Two men were killed and one was injured in a two-car accident involving a 2017 Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer on Highway 181 in Texas, between Beeville and Normanna.
Mark Wesley Swisher and William Charles Mego were driving together in a Dodge pickup truck when a male driver in a Peterbilt driving the opposite direction veered into their lane and hit them head-on. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Peterbilt was transported to the hospital to treat injuries.
While it’s not immediately clear why the truck driver veered into the opposite lane, the Texas Department of Public Safety acknowledged that U.S. 181 was wet at the time of the crash.
