Bad weather can make driving unpleasant and dangerous. Something as simple as a downpour of rain can make roads slick and decrease visibility. Wind-blown debris can impact a driver’s visibility or cause windshield damage. Both of these incidents can lead to accidents.

Wet or icy roads can cause tires to lose traction and spiral out of control. Black ice is especially dangerous to drivers because it’s practically invisible. Glare from the sun is another cause of car accidents.

It’s generally a good idea to stay off the road during inclement weather. But staying home isn’t always an option. People have to get to and from work, pick kids up from school, and perform other tasks. If a driver simply must drive during inclement weather, the best solution is to be extra vigilant.
