Local police reported that multiple contractors were injured when severe winds caused flying debris and a tent collapse at the construction site. Kuraray America Inc. announced plans to begin construction on a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) plant in La Porte, Texas just over a year ago. Houston-based Kuraray America manufactures chemical, fiber, and resin products.
