A fire erupted on a container ship early Monday morning at the Port of Houston, leaving at least two crew members dead and another injured. The blaze, which started around 3:30 AM in the control room of the vessel at the Barbours Cut Terminal.
Details surrounding the cause of the fire remain unclear, and officials are still investigating. The La Porte Fire Department, alongside Port Authority firefighters, battled the flames for several hours before finally extinguishing the blaze.
The injured crew member was airlifted to a nearby hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment. Their condition is unknown at this time.
